Sun Valley Theater Wins Two Top Cappie Awards!

ASTON, PA –Sun Valley had a great showing at the Cappies on Saturday night at Eastern Regional High School in Vorhees, NJ. The cast of The Music Man competed with more than 30 public and private high schools in the Greater Philadelphia Area and were nominated for four Cappies. Not only did students get to perform their Best Song nominated “Marian the Librarian” for more than 200 of their Greater Philadelphia area peers, but they took home two top awards. Sydney Lamoureux won the Cappie for Best Comedic Actress in a Musical, and Gianni Palmarini won the Cappie for Best Male Vocalist in a Musical. The Cappies is an inter-high school theater critic program nationwide in which students attend shows at
other schools, and write reviews. At the end of the year, the student critics vote for awards that are presented at a formal Cappies Gala. Gianni Palmarini was also nominated for Best Male Vocalist. Additionally, the musical number “Marian the Librarian” performed by Gianni Palmarini, Lauren Longhi and the dancers) was nominated for Best Song. Several members of the cast attended the award gala to support their peers and enjoy performances from other schools around the region.
